I started Square Hare Jewellery designs quite a few years ago now, after I had finished studying Silver

smithing and Jewellery making at Cleveland College of Art and Design. I had always made Jewellery from

Being a small child, but now, armed with the tools and knowledge to move into new and exciting techniques

For me I decided to start a new chapter with my Square Hare work.

 

Having always admired the Masquerade book, written and Illustrated by Kit Williams, I had always wanted

That wonderful golden Hare which he had created and made for the book. Knowing the only way I would get

One was to make it myself, had set me off on this new jewellery journey and also admiring the wonderful square

Sheep paintings of our local artist Mackenzie Thorpe, I combined the two to create my Square Hare name.

 

When I later moved to a little stone house on the North Yorkshire Moors, I found myself by fields and wood-

Land through which the wild hares run. If I’m lucky I get to watch them leaping under the moon at night.

So my main work is based on Hares and I love to create new and interesting designs, especially for people

That are personal only to them.

My family and I are Vegan, and we live with our vegetarian animal family members, both in the home and out, wild

In the countryside.

I am a North Yorkshire Witch born and bred steeped in the old ways and all my work is made in love of the old

Gods and Goddess of this land.
